Obama Won!!!

I was treated to a visit with Danny and his friend, Jules, last night. They came so Danny could "Rock the Vote!" Dan is still a registered voter in his home town, so his friend drove down with him from Boston. I had the night off from work, so we shared a pizza and caught up on each other's lives. Matt called from NH, where he and Catherine were working with a delegation to get the voters out in that area.
Of course, after going to bed early, the boys came back from their night out and said it was still undecided about the election. I went to my laptop around midnight, and read, "Barack Obama becomes the first Black President of the United States of America". I screamed down to tell them and turned on NPR all over the house to hear and see (on the computer) the acceptance speech. I was crying because it seemed so great that what we were hoping had come true! It was magical.
Now the work begins, I hope the "Yes, we can" rings true. We have to!

Dear Nancy,
Yes!!!! We too are so excited, stunned, uplifted and energized. Wow. Even here in rural cautious Otsego County, remarkably, he received a majority of the votes. We are full of hope...and know it will be a long road to recovery: he is so disciplined, thoughtful and calm--like Leo! Lots of love to you and everyone. xxxooo, Syd

Hi Nancy,
I finally figured out how to get here, thanks for
making it happen. I heard our president elect on NPR yesterday, and was encouraged that the Dow Jones spiked upward immediately afterward. Obama seems to have the good sense to seek out experts and reach decisions
based upon rational logical strategies, a marked change from you-know-who. I'm hoping that our current leader is big enough to actually help, as well as implement changes during this period of transition. God knows it's coming in the nick of time.
Love and bloggy energy to all,
Tom

Today Obama meets Bush. What a drastic contrast,,, If they can really communicate, it would be something. I notice already a higher level of thinking going on. And we almost forget all the horror of the past eight years.
