I was treated to a visit with Danny and his friend, Jules, last night. They came so Danny could "Rock the Vote!" Dan is still a registered voter in his home town, so his friend drove down with him from Boston. I had the night off from work, so we shared a pizza and caught up on each other's lives. Matt called from NH, where he and Catherine were working with a delegation to get the voters out in that area.
Of course, after going to bed early, the boys came back from their night out and said it was still undecided about the election. I went to my laptop around midnight, and read, "Barack Obama becomes the first Black President of the United States of America". I screamed down to tell them and turned on NPR all over the house to hear and see (on the computer) the acceptance speech. I was crying because it seemed so great that what we were hoping had come true! It was magical.
Now the work begins, I hope the "Yes, we can" rings true. We have to!
